'Avatar 2': A new image reveals that filming will resume in the last week of May


The long-awaited sequel to James Cameron will thus resume its production in New Zealand.

It has been more than two months since the shooting of Avatar 2 had to be stopped due to the coronavirus situation (COVID-19), but apparently, it is gradually getting back to normal to such a point that it can resume shooting on the last week of May.

This has been confirmed by the producer of the sequel, Jon Landau, in his official Instagram account in which he shares a new image of the set accompanied by a text in which he explains that everything is ready to return to filming:

Our 'Avatar' sets are ready and we couldn't be more excited to return to New Zealand next week. Take a look at the Matador, a high-speed boat, and the Picador speedboat. I can't wait to share more things

Avatar 2 stars Sam Worthington again with Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, and CCH Pounder. But there is also room for new actors to join this great James Cameron franchise such as Kate Winslet, Jemaine Clement, Cliff Curtis, Oona Chaplin, Edie Falco, David Thewlis, Michelle Yeoh, and Vin Diesel.
